Yet another hockey consultancy?

No, it’s different. Focusing exclusively on the women’s game, my one and only intention is to support women’s ice hockey, especially in Europe. Main focus is on players, helping them to reach their personal top and to find a professional environment to do so.

To create an appropriate, professional environment for women’s hockey, coaches, teams and federations also need support, so these, besides the players are the second target group. Together we can bring the women’s game to a higher level. I’m highly motivated to contribute to this goal, so let’s get in contact if you are, too!

Players

No hockey without players, so these are the main assets of the game and deserve the best possible support. Especially female players still broadly lack encouragement and sometimes even respect from their environments.

So, the goal is to accompany players in their career, by being mentor rather than a classical agent.

I link players from all over the world to those teams best suited for their situations, helping them to gain maximum benefits, sports-wise as well as economically.

Improving individual player development, e.g. by organizing personal training with top coaches as well as connecting them with other beneficial facilities, e.g. sports psychologists, etc.

Helping youth players reaching out for e.g. US college spots or other high grade opportunities by providing all necessary information and connecting them to the right people.

Truth is, women’s coaches have different needs as they work in a still developing ecosystem. They have fewer supporting staff (if any), fewer resources and a much smaller player pool to choose from, compared to e.g. men’s hockey. Especially for coaches just entering the arena it’s sometimes quite difficult to work around these constraints.

My aim is to provide assistance to coaches in these situations as well as in finding the right teams to pursue their career in women’s hockey. It’s a coach-the-coach approach that enables them to reach this goal.

Women’s hockey in Europe is clearly on the rise, with leagues and teams becoming ever more professional. In some countries this happened already several years ago, in some this process is currently underway and some still lag a bit behind. But in any case professional support can help teams to reach their future goals.

Be it roster planning, constitution of a proper coaching team and organization of youth teams, I can support sports and general managers in their strategic and operative work.

Besides sports, support in event management, marketing, branding and PR to establish a strong brand and thus gain publicity and sponsorships for the team.

All in all the aim is to professionalize women’s ice hockey by establishment of professional team structures.

Professional Experience

Former junior hockey player, several years of experience as athlete and coach in volleyball and track and fields. 10+ years of experience in women’s hockey, different positions as youth, assistant and head coach, as well as sports and General Manager in the Austrian federal women’s league (DEBL). Establishment of the EC Graz Huskies EWHL (European Women’s Hockey League) team from scratch. Consultancy in different fields of women’s ice hockey. University senior lecturer and project manager for 20+ years.
